Five years old today, and ready to take on the world.
Happy birthday, Baby Rhys. An anniversary which he shares with "English Geek" Amy Sorensen... happy birthday, dear Amy, happy birthday to you!
(Photo taken on a hike on the Colorado National Monument last Sunday. He wanted to wear his backpack. As far as I know, there wasn't anything in it. Grammy bought him the shirt--isn't it darling?)
Happy Birthday to you
Happy Birthday to you
Happy Birthday dear Rhysie

Happy birthday to Rhys. Good looking boy. Molly,(maybe you remember this if you share the memory capabilities of the woman that was on NPR yesterday and today who remembers details of her life but can't remember historical details [Lincoln's first name - not really])but we were living in the tri-plex on Cody Way when you were five years old. And we had rocks in the back yard.

I remember the rocks in the backyard. Also the earwigs and the sweet husky mix. And the fact that we never wore shirts and were brown as three little berries.

And building cities for the doodlebugs. And sitting on Mom & Dad's bed before Ben was born discussing potential baby names and pooh-poohing Dad's suggestion of "Miles." (Ironic, no, that our cat is now named Miles?)
