So since we live in Colorado (not Texas... sorry for any earlier confusion) and Colorado's popular attractions include mountains (along with elk, sucky MLB teams and Springs-based fundie groups).... we spent yesterday driving around some of the more entertaining passes, gorges, canyons and suchlike in the San Juan Mountains.
With our bestest buddies, Joe and Karan. They're visiting from California. Yay! Shout-out to Joe and Karan! But they have to leave tomorrow. Boo. That sucks.
Here we are on California Pass (altitude: 12,930 ft). The wind was screaming like a woman and sobbing like a child. And I was spouting mournful similes like Johnny Cash.

At least 'til I come along and tear it up and stick it behind my ear until it starts to itch 15 minutes later and I chuck it out the Land Rover window. Hee hee.
News flash: Day after tomorrow, we're embarking on our Epic Journey to California and points north. Fiona (my laptop) is coming with me, and I look forward to posting dispatches to the Pic-Dem from the field.
